The lake ice is not going to be a factor.
It reduced a lot so should be beneficial

Sure looks like a squall set up on the radar right now over Newmarket? Couldn't be... but it's moving around in straight lines...I guess it's system snow, the winds are too light and from the sse...Nevermind!

Most models (NAM, RGEM, CMC, EURO) predicted 8-15cm of snow here in the Alliston to Barrie corridor from this system. So far we've had 3cm here in south Barrie, only 1cm in Alliston. Precip looks done. Our only chance now is some LES tomorrow night with a strong NW wind and below 0C temps.

Very heavy lake effect west of London will drift east as the night goes on!! Almost no ice at all in Lake Huron Now!

Temps are going to be marginal most of the day, so may be ice pellets squall, but around 6-7pm a nice fat snow squall should set up off GB over Barrie looking at the winds, before drifting westward again around midnight. Could be 10cms or more for some.
