Cold front blew through early this morning...one inch of snow fell and has melted off from the sun. Windy with temperatures beginning to fall now.

Tonight - if the wind dies down enough - the expected low is 5F which threatens some long standing records around here.

Back up closer to normal by the weekend...a couple degrees below until Monday but no longer qualified as an "arctic plunge" IMO

High temp in Fredericksburg of 64 yesterday at 17:15. Was much warmer than I expected this morning. The cold front was tardy.

Was 54 degrees this morning at 6 AM. Then the front blew through and temperature dropped 12 degrees in 3 hours this morning from 6 to 9 AM and hasn't seen any daytime warming really all afternoon.

Going into the 20s tonight but then start a warming trend that gets us to 76 for a high by Saturday before backing off into the low to mid sixties each day early next week. Not bad for late March in Virginia.

The wind here in Albany is brutal. Just cuts right through you and I've heard nothing but that wind gust "whistle" all day.
