Yeah, it's freezing rain out there. The bit of snowcover we've got has a crusty layer on top but at least the ground is white. Baby steps as we go It does look like things will be windy for NS this evening and through tomorrow but I don't know about 90 km/h. I'd say more like gusts in the 60 km/h range or perhaps a bit higher. Hope you enjoy it either way! Look like you've got more storm chances through the next while as well. Thanks Bigmt i just dont understand why it was saying 90-100km the past 2 days lol . i cant see it happening . http://spotwx.com/products/grib_index.php?...25805&tz=-4 theres the site there . |

The snow last night was simply incredible! It snowed at a rate I haven't seen since March 2008 with wind pushing it every which way! The snow covered the ground not two minutes after it started! But alas, it stopped about then.
On the bright side, I can now skate on my street! |

Eventually made it home. Quite the drive though, 401 was closed at Brighton, so traffic was rerouted down to Highway 2 until Colborne. Must have been an accident from earlier given the roads weren't icy by this point.

How about the posters from Quebec City? They probably stood a better chance for a respectable snow event out of this one than most of us. From the reports i got, the best amount of snow were east of Riviere du Loup (Rimouski & Matane area) with more than 25-30cm of snow over two days and none of the wet stuff - if any. Lac St-Jean/Saguenay got a good amount also (20cm), and no rain/freezing rain. Part of NB got more than 15cm where rain was expected - go figure. On my side, we got 5-10cm of snow, then 1/2 inch of freezing rain and very windy. Montreal about 5cm of snow, then rain (above 0c) all day Monday. |
