I decided to open a thread for the late-month warm spell instead of having people post in the long-range fall thread. Today's high in Binghamton was 78 degrees, about 14 above average. Tomorrow's record high here is merely 79 degrees (the first sub-80 record high since mid-April). NWS is predicting a high of 77 for tomorrow (though they predicted a mere 75 for today). I am curious as to whether we make it tomorrow. I hope that Portland, ME made it to their record of 80 today.

80s with dewpoints in the 50s. Not many times you can say that around here.

In fact only 7 times that's happened at BDR this year.

Dry and Very warm today with no frost threat in sight still for another week +

no doubt.....any idea as to even potentially when we may see a change to cooler/chilly weather taking over via the current models or at least a shot of it to maybe lay down some frost perhaps?

Cooler/chillier air should come in after this week but frost/freeze potential I think would be after mid October south of MA/PA.

Warm "summer throwback" weekend here, with 84F on Saturday and 82F on Sunday. While it was very warm during the day in the sun the humidity was very low so it dropped off quickly at night for large diurnal ranges (47F low Sunday morning for instance). That's it though, temps haven't risen much since mid morning, its cloudy and the front is about to go through - tomorrow my P&C has 52F high. blink.gif

Leaves will be peaking over the next week here. When we have a clearer day I'll try to post some pics in the Fall thread.

We were one degree short of Sunday's record high, of course--I had a feeling thet we would miss it by one (the forecast was to miss it by two). Some loud thunder is occurring now--nature is trying its best to give us our End-of-the-Month Rain. The thunder has been quite loud, but the rain is minimal where I am now. The rain must be falling north of me (i.e. at thr official weather station).

The heavy rain has reached my area. It is yet another last-day-of-the-month downpour. The so-called weak system may give us an entire inch of rain, and rainfall deficits may even be erased here (but certainly not for places to my south and east, who have had a very dry month). Of course, the first 26 days of September 2010 had only half an inch of rain here--and only an inch and a half up to the early morning of the 30th. However, we had four-plus inches of rain on the 30th, making it our wettest September in six years.
