Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body.

Rather it should be to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand and the Good Book in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"

4. What is your Astrological sign? Sagitarrius.

5. Do you read your horoscope? and do you 'believe' it? No. No. Like Jim Morrison said, "I am a sagitarius, the most philosophical of all the signs.......but I don't believe it. I think it's all a bunch of BS [except he said the REAL words]" tongue.gif

12. Have you ever been to a play or ballet production? Yes.

13. What is the role of the Arts in society, and is it a 'necessary' thing? Arts are to uplift & inspire. Life would be awful boring without it, and we would be lesser beings.....is it strictly "necessary"? No.

1. Are you a 'morning' person?
I am a shift worker.... i am awake all the time. I love the mornings... but heck, i love about anytime i am off.

2. What is your favorite meal...Breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
Breakfast. I eat eggs numerous times a day. i just finished my 16th egg for the day and I still have to eat my protein muffins which are full of egg whites. Yea i do, I do love me some breakfast.

3. What is the last book you read? Was it from a 'book'...or a digital tablet (Kindle, IPad, etc.)?
I read Outlander by Diana Gabaldon; Just finished it a few days ago. Looking for book #two in the series as book one was "verra" good. ;-) It was a BOOK not some Frankenstien book wanna be "tablet".

4. What is your Astrological sign? Cancer, born on the cusp with Leo in the year of the fire horse (If you believe in any that malarkey...I dont but I do find it interesting reading.)

5. Do you read your horoscope? and do you 'believe' it? I read it sometimes and no, I do not believe in it any more than I believe in a fortune cookie telling my my future.

6. Would you call yourself a vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, or carnivore? or ????? I am a omnivore who eats a LOT of meat and other protein sources. Most vegans (IMO) are skinny little weak men and i honestly do not want to look like the "stereotypical" vegan.
Here are some famous vegans:
Benjamin Zephaniah, Rasta poet and TV scriptwriter
Bryan Adams, singer
Casey Kasem, US DJ/media personality
Gordon Newman, TV dramatist, playwright and novelist. Wrote For The Greater Good
Heather Small (M-People), singer
Jean Ure, writer of children's book
Leonard Gregory, Played Dt. Sgt. West in East Enders
Lindsay Wagner, actress, 'The Bionic Woman'
Martin Shaw, actor
Moby, DJ and record producer
Robin Gibb, Bee Gees
Spice Williams, actress
Wendy Turner, TV Presenter
Yaz, singer

Most of them are skinny little things. And while a mature adult can pull off being a semi vegan for the most part I think it is dangerous to force that kind of diet on a child or adolescent.
I am not saying it is impossible to raise a healthy child or to be a robustly healthy adult but it sure is a lot harder if you limit your protein sources to no meat, milk, or eggs. I have numerous Indian friends who body build and are vegans but they have a LOT of trouble getting enough protein in their diets to appear anything more than healthy/lean muscular. The ones that are at least semi successful at it add eggs and dairy to their BB diets.

7. What is your favorite type of bread? (White, wheat, sourdough, whole-grain,...etc.) Whole grain.
I love me some Texas Toast but that is limited to very rare occasions.

8. Does music play a significant role in your life? I ride my motorcycles to music, i work out to music and i enjoy music a lot. Dad used to not let us eat if we did not learn to play a song before dinner on the guitar. Both dad and his dad were musicians at least in part and dad tried very hard to pass that love of music onto his children.

9. Do you play any musical instruments? What are they? Is it fun? Guitar and i used to play the trombone in jr. high. It CAN be fun but i personally would rather watch someone else play... I can do it but it is not "my thing".

10. Do you have a favorite painter/painting?
Favorite painter? i like so many; Remington, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Renoir (my wifes favorite!), Claude Monet (another of my wifes favorites!), Sir Thomas Lawrence, Arthur Kampf.
Favorites paintings?
#1 would be:

Attached Image

#2 would be:
Attached Image

11. Do you ever watch 'foreign' films? and do subtitles 'annoy' you?
Hmm, i watched The Passion of Christ on Easter and the subtitles did not bother me. Nor did they bother me in the movie Couching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Seven Samurai is probably the best foreign film i have ever seen.

12. Have you ever been to a play or ballet production? Yes i love the arts, my wife; not so much.

13. What is the role of the Arts in society, and is it a 'necessary' thing? Necessary? Like food or drink? Like clothes or shelter? No. Should the arts be funded by the community in a way other than by the sales of works or tickets? No. The arts should be allowed to flourish and prosper but not at the expense of the community being leeched for monies via taxation or fees.

Good questions! Thank you.

1. Are you a 'morning' person? Define 'morning'? Work 3rd shift so I'm confused...would be even if I didn't work 3rd's!

2. What is your favorite meal...Breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Yes...

3. What is the last book you read? Was it from a 'book'...or a digital tablet (Kindle, IPad, etc.)? Since I usually read 3 or 4 at a time I'm not done with latest batch yet...but last completed book read, on both Kindle AND hard cover, was "Has Christianity Failed You" By Dr. Ravi Zacharias.

5. Do you read your horoscope? and do you 'believe' it? Only when I need a laugh...and no, I don't believe 'em.

6. Would you call yourself a vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, or carnivore? or ????? Preditor...didn't think of that one did ya?

7. What is your favorite type of bread? (White, wheat, sourdough, whole-grain,...etc.)
Green...with pictures of 'dead presidents' on 'em.

8. Does music play a significant role in your life? Only when it starts doing my dishes and laundry...and cooks as well will music go beyond its 'background noise' status and become significant.

9. Do you play any musical instruments? What are they? Is it fun? No, none, zero fun.

10. Do you have a favorite painter/painting? I'm my own favorite painter and my current 'masterpiece' is the bathroom. Starting on the Kitchen next week!!

11. Do you ever watch 'foreign' films? and do subtitles 'annoy' you? Yes on occasion I do watch...as for the subtitles, they're better that than some of over-dubbing in English that some films get. Ex. ANY Godzilla movie from the 60's..nuff said!

12. Have you ever been to a play or ballet production? professional or private? ohmy.gif

13. What is the role of the Arts in society, and is it a 'necessary' thing?
The Arts in society is there for one reason, and one reason only...justification for sales of coloring books and crayons!! A VERY necessary thing indeed!
