Aren't you in the Portland area, as I am? GFS the whole time was a blowtorch, calling for practically all rain for coastal Cumberland County. That was the NAM, GFS was painting 12+ all the way to the coast... -------------------- Location: Lyndonville, VT

That was the NAM, GFS was painting 12+ all the way to the coast... OK. I'll take your word for it, but that's not my recollection at all of what I was seeing on the GFS, even as of 00Z this morning, let alone in the days prior. In any event, we got a terrific snowstorm! |

In any event, we got a terrific snowstorm! You were probably looking at 850 temps which were marginal, surface temps were below freezing pretty much all the way to the coast, GFS indicated a nice coastal front.. EDIT: Looks like final snowfall has come through, snowfall totals are all over the place do to drifting, but I'd say we picked up around 14 inches. We have drifts ranging from 10 to up to 24 inches. I may snap some pics tomorrow morning. This post has been edited by donutvampire: Dec 27 2012, 11:37 PM -------------------- Location: Lyndonville, VT

Sugarloaf is reporting almost a foot and that was last updated before you wrote this. Was the cut-off that sharp? It looked like on radar they were in some heavy bands most of the day. I wish I had saved a radar image from mid-storm yesterday... it was dumping north of Farmington and south of Turner, and in the middle I honestly thought the sun was going to come out. We went without snowfall between about noon and 3pm and it never really started back up. I ended up around 9", and that is erring on the high side. I am heading to Rangeley this afternoon, expect to see a bit more accumulation there. |

Check out the snowfall report... not much data from southern ME yet, but here is the effect of that dry slot I mentioned earlier: Phillips, 20" Eustis, 25" Rangeley, 19" Andover, 30" Livermore Falls, 5" |
