I think it puts them back to the pack, but I also think that there is no great team in the AL East so everyone but Tampa has a shot to win the division. Doubt the wild card comes from the East.

I'm going to give my early baseball predictions for 2015 in a vein attempt to see if there is anyone alive in these threads. W = Wildcard

AL East
Toronto
Boston - Move them to first if they get Hamels
New York
Baltimore
Tampa Bay

AL Central
Detroit
Cleveland - W
Chicago
Kansas City - Last year was special, but also a mirage
Minnesota

AL West
Anaheim
Seattle - W
Oakland
Texas
Houston

NL East
Washington
Miami - W
NY Mets
Atlanta
Philadelphia

NL Central
St. Louis
Chicago - W
Pittsburgh
Milwaukee
Cincinnati

NL West
Los Angeles
San Diego
San Francisco
Arizona
Colorado

It was good to see low market teams like Miami, Chicago and San Diego spend this offseason and I think they will see the dividends.

I predict the Nationals over the Angels in the World Series.

However, 3 signifigent components of the O's team that had little contribution to the 2014 success should be able to shoulder the load from those that departed. Matt Weiters - catcher only played about a month & a half before going down to injury. Manny Machado - 3rd Base - got off to a slow start because of injury in 2013, was starting to hit his stride and went down to injury again in late June. Chris Davis 1st Base had at totally subpar 2014 hitting less than .200 compared to about .280 with 53 HR's in 2013.

Pitching staff remains intact. No marquee names, but a solid staff.

Go O's.

I'm not sure you are ever going to see a Chris Davis anywhere near what he did in 2013. I do think you will be pleasantly surprised from what you get out of Travis Snider though.

Snider is being viewed as a younger, healthier version of Nick Markakis - similar offense but a slight step down in defense on the outfield.

I'm not expecting a 2013 Chris Davis, but something with a BA of .250 or .260 and maybe 35 HR's.
