Do you think it's possible that there's some errors? I see the 85/85, but the stations around it have DPs in the low-mid 70's.

I know evapotranspiration can be a localized thing, so that's why I'm not ruling it out. But usually when the conditions are there for evapotranspiration (wet soil, sun), it exists in the surrounding areas as well UNLESS there was an intense nearly stationary storm over that area.

It also seems a little suspicious that there's been 100% humidity for the past 4 hours.

Was talking with someone about that dewpoint issue. That station is known to have dp issues yet never get it fixed lol There have been numerous along the bay though that have managed to get to 80-82F though so needless stay nasty!

Enjoy your heat im dreading the 94/68 we have now just way too hot for this portion of the country. Hopefully get some storm action from you guys out west to come through. Seems it has been rather north as some have pointed out usually we need the system to come through southern MI to really benefit from anything in SC PA.

Feel bad for you folks out in northern MO and central IL who currently have been sitting at around 94-96 with a dp at 80! Best of luck to you folks there.

Just spent a week in cool northern MN and coming back to this is brutal. Currently 92F with a dewpoint of 80F in Peoria. I see a 83F dew point reading for Pontiac right now. I wonder what the dew point records are for central IL.

Probably somewhere in the mid 80s I know my synoptic teacher said she use to live in central IL when she was a kid and many of times she experienced dps in the mid 80's to me that is just nuts!

Hopefully you guys get some big storms to knock it down a bit

Just looked it up and the all time record since 1973 is 83F, so we are sitting just 3F below that. I am currently on my back porch and it is insane! Feels like I'm in a sauna.

Now just 1F below all time record high dewpoint of 83.

I see storms firing up in SE Iowa that are essentially stationary. Radar estimates over 4" in one hour in spots. ohmy.gif Wonder if anything will fire here in this absurd heat/moisture.
