QUOTE(humidex @ Jan 4 2018, 07:50 PM) *
Just got off the phone with my sister in Port Saxon. They now have a power failure in all of shelburne Cty. That area of Nova Scotia has had sporadic power for the past week, since the Dec. 25/26 storm.
It appears the worst of this storm is yet to come , tonight and tomorrow.Hunker down, and be ready for the brutal cold coming in next.

we are still holding power...however in the last 20 mins the winds have picked up considerably

We were just on the fringes here this far East, we had about 7cm of snow overnight and a wind warning, a little bit messy this morning but now its +9c and sunny breaks with relatively light winds, feels like a nice Spring day. I dont think we will survive with too much snow left after today, probably back to revealing all the ice again under the snow!

Wreckhouse recorded gusts over 170kmh, that area and the Northern Peninsula bore the brunt here.

We received between 10 and 15 cm here and snow has started again, very windy outside which make nice snow drifts but poor visibility. Great storm eventhough we didn't receive much.
