Hey everyone, I know some of you knew my wife and I are expecting a child, well we still are! We are now past our due date. Dang thing is not cooperating. He has not dropped at all, he is still riding high, so it looks like the odds are going to be that we will be having a c-section birth early next week. With the weather we have had lately, I dont think I would want to come out either! I will keep you up dated as best as I can.

Perhaps if someone PMed me their email, I can send you an email from my cell phone once Logan is born (that is his name!) and you can update in here much earlier than I would be able to.

Hope all of your Christmasses were excellent, and that your New Years will be awesome as Ironwood!

Was browsing ESPN and saw this story and thought it was an excellent story. It shows the other side of football. I love football, it is my passion. I played it, and now I coach it. I am an old-school coach, I hate all the *bleep* in the NFL. I miss Barry Sanders. It is turning into more about entertainment than the sport. I realized that football should not be about the fans, the fans should be about football. I dont need to be entertained by some stpuid touchdown dance. Some stupid antics with a sharpie or popcorn. I want to watch the best the world has to offer playing the game. To me football is entertaining. I hate celebrating every hard hit, every sack, every tackle, every first down.

This story really talks about what football was about, with the bull in the ring talk, the team building that happens through tough practices, the mentality that forms where it is 1 team, and not x amount of players.

I hope you guys like this article and I hope it can help you begin to see the glorious past of football and what makes it such a great sport.

Just thought I would throw this out there, but Bl1zzard predicted the Lions to be 10-6 this year I believe. I predicted them to get 4-6 wins at best. Looks like we were both high on our wins prediction smile.gif

Calvin Johnson is ridiculous though!

Friend of mine passed along an email about this awhile back, but with this concept of spreading the wealth, it got me to thinking about it again.

It was about drug testing for peopel receiving welfare, or other forms of government aid. I bust my hump at work, and to get this job, I had to get drug tested. I am not crazy about spreading the wealth, but I would rather do that than see the actual burden on society than people could be. But there is no welfare ownership for these people. They get a check. Some of them use this money responsibly, but I think it is safe to say that a fair amount are not responsible. I think it is time we make get a little strict on welfare. Mandatory drug testing to collect your check. I had to take one to earn that money, so should you!

What other steps do you think could be taken to create ownership on that welfare check, with the ultimate goal being getting that person off of welfare and contributing to society instead of living off of it?
