TIPS AND TRICKS WHEN UPLOADING YOUR PHOTOS TO PHOTO.ACCUWEATHER.COM:

1. Upload the original photos from your camera if possible. This will allow the "EXIF" data to be displayed with your photo (showing camera type, exposure, etc.) - see an example here (NOTE: example does not contain EXIF data yet, try back soon).

2. Upload large photos. Only photos with native resolutions higher than 1600x1200 are eligible for the AccuWeather.com Photo Gallery Calendar, because of the detail needed for print.

3. Upload your best photo last. The last photo uploaded by each member is displayed in the "Most Recent Photos" portion of the home page.

4. Upload photos several times per day. After a few hours your pictures will be out of rotation for the "Recent Photos" area. When you see yourself moving near the end of the line, upload new pictures.

5. Upload pictures of recent weather events. Any weather-related photos from the last 30 days will qualify as Moderator's Picks, which means your photos will be seen by a nationwide audience (click here for details).

6. Tag your photos correctly. If you don't add the correct tags, people won't be able to find your pictures via the "Search" or via search engines like Google. Tags are one-word phrases describing what is IN your photo (sunset, snow, clouds, etc. - examples of common tags are shown here. Don't overtag -- tags not relevant to your photo will be removed by Moderators.
