Looks amazing.... but I'm almost never on the free site? Will there be as many advertisements on the forum pages now? In general, the ads will not change though we are making an effort to make the site less cluttered and more appealing to the eye. Glad everybody here is on the same page ![]() We'll let you know if there is a beta before the release. The old and new site will run in parallel for a little while. -------------------- -- Jesse Ferrell, FORUM ADMIN & MODERATOR

Looks slick, much cleaner and easier to find what you want. Fixes my biggest gripe with the Accuweather site. Looking forward to the release date!

You know, I used to have everything I wanted available at a glance, needing at most a quick move of the mouse wheel. Now I have to flip through a bunch of different views to find the same information.
So, did you decide to can the entire old format or can we have the one page of useful local information available at a glance back? Thanks. |

The new Accuweather is more futuristic looking. It's a very good upgrade and I love the details.

Definately faster than the older version. I had to keep using Google Chrome when things got slow. It kind of reminds me of the Weather Channel site layout.
![]() However... There are things I miss (or I'm not finding them). I liked the simplicity of the table layout for weather data (like the weather stats for this month and the previous month). I could simply copy/paste it into excel (without having to format anything) to keep a running track of total average temps. Now I don't see it, so I'm guessing that whole thing is now Premium Membership only, including the this/last month data. I also liked the quick rundown (weather graphic, hi and lo temp) for the next 15 days. Quick and easy to scroll down and look at. The temperature chart (HIs and LOs overlapping the average temp), and average monthly temperature chart were something I looked at frequently and liked. How about a format that has all the same info on one page like the old one? Where did that one go hide? Thanks. Yes, it would be nice to have a "Classic View". Wow! I like it! It looks alot less cluttered than the site looks now which is a big improvement. It looks like you can find things alot easier now. ![]() Just my personal opinion, but to me, large graphics and tables (i.e., weather calendar) that takes up the entire page with a mix of big and small font sizes = cluttered. So that's where it was hiding!
Although I do miss the heating/cooling degree days (I can still calculate those at least...), and it's not the easiest copy/paste format (I had my excel all set up for the old table layout. Fit nicely). Oh well, at least I can view historical data for more than 2 months, so I guess it's a tradeoff. This post has been edited by BaltimoreWeatherGirl77: Mar 1 2010, 06:41 PM |
