Total snow this month: 3" Total snow this season: 26" Average snow per season: 13" Status: Surplus I changed it to "per season" and "this season". My averages are always posted for the season, and as we know, the season goes across 2 years, 2009/2010. Overall I'm satisfied, especially after several 3"-6" seasons, but I would rather get three 8" events than one 24" event. -------------------- Winter Season 2009-2010

If we're doing it for January, then shouldn't you also collect the average January snowfall? Because you do have the data to do the winter snow (current obs compared to average), but you don't have yet the January average snowfall.

Good point, but I think most people understand that by saying "this year" it is implied that were talking about the whole winter season even though it does span multiple years -------------------- Average Seasonal Snow: 35"

I think if it's really cold out it will work, you can only use it at night when it's like 20 degrees or else you'll just spray water all over the grass and make an ice rink. With how cold and dry it's been this year, it will definitely work -------------------- Visit my weather website for the NYC area

If we're doing it for January, then shouldn't you also collect the average January snowfall? Because you do have the data to do the winter snow (current obs compared to average), but you don't have yet the January average snowfall. Well, the thing is if I asked for January snowfall, I'd have to compare it to the average snowfall for January, and I don't think many people know what there average January snowfall is. So I'm merely going to use peoples snow totals as well as wether they are in a snow drought or surplus. -------------------- Average Seasonal Snow: 35"
