Snow ratios are goiing to be pretty high according to the latest run

probably not for nyc or li. We will likely experience "yard slurpies" in our back yards if anything. Someone, somewhere inland will likely reign the snow king though.

you are right the odds are against snow in the big cities in march but this is only the very beginning of march and huge storms are common, maybe not an all snow event but at least some snow with a storm this powerful. However the 6Z GFS lost the storm entirely so who knows.

This is not a normal winter though and with all the widespread snow cover and block - expect - the unexpected. When I lived in the Philly area in 1993 - We had the superstorm and 15 to 20 inches of snow on March 13th.

I keep hearing this everywhere! Where are people seeing this? I cannot find this anywhere on the internet.

I posted this a few days ago:

Posted Friday -
Totally OT here but has anybody heard of the rumors going around in the public about some blizzard of epic proportion around the timeframe of March 5th to 7th?

Two nights ago I was visiting my father and mother and told him we may get some snow or sleet this coming Tuesday or Wednesday. I also told him about a potential storm next Thursday or Friday. He then told me that he heard (thinks it was coming from the Farmer's Almanac) about some big storm on the 6th or 7th of March. Since I am not a big fan of the forecasting done by the Farmer's Almanac I kind of just brushed it off and said that there are the potential for a lot of storms in the next 2 weeks or so.

Today I had to run some errands over lunch. I stopped at the bank and heard 2 people talking about some big 20" - 40" storm on March 6th. I then had to pick some stuff up at Walmart and I just about fell over when I heard somebody tell one of the cashiers that there was some huge snow storm coming on March 6th.
I thought i was in the twilight zone for a second or 2.

Tonight on the 0Z GFS I'm in the twilight zone again. blink.gif

May be the strongest mean I've ever seen on the Ensembles 240 hours out.

GGEM:

GGEM Ensembles have a weaker storm but it's still there.

Probably bc the Farmer's Almanac was calling for it and it got one of the MA blizzard's right (maybe both) earlier this month.

That's not the only Farmers Almanac out there. I'm not sure which one said it, but I've heard on multiple different unrelated times about this storm also. Some guy who writes for one of these almanacs is predicting it, and a lot of people are tlaking about it.
