My daughter has become obsessed with Michael Jackson as of late, and insisted on buying the DVD this weekend. She watched it all.weekend.long.
Anyone else see it? What were your thoughts on it or Michael Jackson himself? Talent / no talent? (Please no talk of what he was allegedly accused of) -------------------- Kay Lewis Proud to be an Accuweather.com Global Moderator ![]() |

I do enjoy singing and dancing to a few of his songs (like Thriller and Beat It.) I LOVE playing Beat it on guitar hero I think Michael Jackson had talent in his own way. -------------------- Nobody enjoys a red X. |

There's no question that Michael Jackson was very talented. I didn't even think people were questioning that. Although he had some issues, he was a great talent.

Used to worship him back in the day.But I think his talent went down hill along with his health and his common sense. But that thriller video was the scariest, coolest thing when it first came out way back in the 80's.I had nightmares due to that video as a young boy.

Michael was a one of a kind talent...the originality of his dance moves and the ideas presented in his 80's Videos - Thriller etc. were unique and far ahead of thier time.
Like most talents....their light glows only for a limited time. With the recently signed $200M deal for unreleased works of his, we will be hearing new material from Michael's grave for many years to come. -------------------- Never too old to have a happy childhood! .......... ..........![]() Don't put an age limit on your dreams! |

Very talented, though I wouldn't call myself a big fan; my interest starts at "Billie Jean" and ends at "Bad", with "Thriller" as its apex.

It angers me to see that some even compare some lame artists of today to MJ( ......that Beiber kid). That's very disrespectful to the one and only King of Pop. RIP MJ -------------------- |

I'm a pretty big Michael Jackson fan myself. I love his music and have great respect for his art. He was a genius in writing, creating, and interpreting music as well as dancing. Yes he was weird, I think everyone knows that but he did do a lot of good by donating to charities and helping people. This Is It was a really good movie, I enjoyed seeing Michael preparing for those concerts! My family had tickets to see him in London and we still get mad that we never made it to see him at the 02.

Michael had an indefinable magic that made you want to watch him over and over. I had a copy
of the Thriller tape and watched it countless times but I wasn't the only one that was mesmerized by his tallent. I remember that on the Thriller tape they showed a clip of Michael singing and dancing to Billie Jean on stage at a televised event that I believe was the Black Entertainment Awards. Fred Astaire, a dancing legend in his own right, watched the program that night and when interviewed later said that he was glad he had recorded the program because Michael's performance that night had fascinated him and he had watched it over and over. I have seen "This Is It" and enjoyed it very much. Very interesting how he was on top of every little detail concerning his music, as he should have been....it was his name at stake but also he took obvious pride in all of his productions. I'm glad that he passed through our world... he brought a lot of happiness to a lot of folks, me included. A Genius thinks 'out of the box' and advances mankind and themselves because of it.
The Insane think 'out of their head' and bring makind and themselves down because of it. There is a very, very fine line that separates the Genius from Insanity - and sometimes individuals dance along that line with steps on either side. As MJ aged he was putting more and more steps on the Insane side of the line. -------------------- Never too old to have a happy childhood! .......... ..........![]() Don't put an age limit on your dreams! |

Not necessarily.....particularly the "advancing mankind" part. Mankind has not advanced on the ability of idiots. Genius may not be able to comprehend the work-a-day world and the common and ordinary....but they come up with the original thoughts and actions that move and shake the world. Gallileo, Einstein, Pastuer, Edison....the list goes on and on and on and on. Did MJ have the abstract intellect of those I have named - no way - but his intellect and performance abilities in his area of interest provided the most original entertainment of the 80's - what he did was not a copy of what anyone else had done, and many then copied what MJ had pioneered. -------------------- Never too old to have a happy childhood! .......... ..........![]() Don't put an age limit on your dreams! |
