How often did this kind of thing happen back when it was legal to beat your kids?

The causes of random violence are many. Core values, so many people and kids are so lacking in them. Broken families, never married mothers, deadbeat dads. Movies that glorify violence, horror movies. Failure to take responsibility, from our government officials down. I' m not real big on religion but if people lived as most religion preach, we would be better off. A sad subject, but so necessary to talk about. Treat others as you would want to be treated. I am now leaving the pulpit.

OK jacksonville, I never argue with folks on here but I must speak up and defend the honor and tradition of one of the oldest movie genres in this country or any other. Why, I was raised on horror flick classics with Bela Legosi, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price and others. My household was nothing if not peaceful. To this day it is still my favorite theme in movies from The Ring to Friday The Thirteenth to any hack em', sack em', slice em' and dice em' movie out there, I've seen them all and you couldn't ask for a sweeter old lady than myself. Not a vicious bone in my trembly ol' body. If you are predisposed to violence, you will embrace it no matter what you're watching. If you are not, no amount of blood and gore is going to make you into what you are not. Please do not disparage an old lady's gentle pleasures and I thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely, kindly old lady wings smile.gif

Not everyone reacts to triggers, as you have not and not all movies transforms the watcher to the slasher. If that was the case I would be making more money then Jim Carey, since I love comedies. I don't want to take anything from anyone who peacefully enjoy it. I used a broad brush, I"m sorry.

Why that's ok! I mean, a little dose of Halloween 22 might just send some volatile drug fueled nut case over the top but then, so could my cooking. You just never know about these things. wink.gif
