LOS ANGELES—Dennis Hopper, the high-flying Hollywood wild man whose memorable and erratic career included an early turn in "Rebel Without a Cause," an improbable smash with "Easy Rider" and a classic character role in "Blue Velvet," has died. He was 74. Hopper died Saturday at his home in the Los Angeles beach community of Venice, surrounded by family and friends, family friend Alex Hitz said. Definately not a well-known actor amongst my fellow younger generation, but will always remember his role in the movie "Hoosiers'. Pretty good actor altogether.

I remember him from that god-awful Super Mario Bros. movie as Bowser.

And now this from the Mercury News out of Silicon Valley. The woman he was trying to divorce is now claiming she's entitled to millions from his estate. Hope she doesn't get a dime but of course there will have to be a settlement. He claimes she stole many valuable items from him. I enjoyed his work. A lot of us have seen him in movies without realizing who we were looking at. He never got the name recognition he deserved but he was a heck of an actor.

He did a few commericals for Ameriprise recently. A very nice looking man for his age.

I'm surprised some people on this thread don't know who Dennis Hopper is. I think he's a big name in the movie industry.

His service was in Taos yesterday. It was all over the newspapers in New Mexico when I was there earlier this week. Parts of Easy Rider were filmed in my hometown.
