So far this hurricane season has been pretty boring which is good for a lot of people, but also making people mad since a lot of meteorologists have forecasted an active hurricane season. It is almost the peak of the season!
I wanted to have some fun and see if anyone wanted to try and guess where, when and how strong the next hurricane will be to impact the U.S. My guess: When: Wednesday September 8th How Strong: CAT 3 Where: Cape Hatteras NC Rules: 1st most important is the date correct. 5 points 2nd is CAT. 3 points 3rd is location 1 point |

Hurricane Nicole Category 3 Landfall= Key Largo, Fla : October 5, 2010 Nicole never developed into a Hurricane, although it did get close to the Keys. In general my edu-macated guess was not very close, Otto will not even be formed yet... -------------------- "Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. Well, the answer to the question so far is simple... None
![]() Of course the season's not over yet, we still have another 2 months to go, but chances that the US sees a hurricane landfall are decreasing. This post has been edited by NYCSuburbs: Oct 9 2010, 09:30 PM |

New guess...I can't use Paula because it is too close to being a hurricane already...It could hit the Keys (Key Largo, using my old guess) on Oct. 17th as a Cat 3 but that is not really a guess that is far enough away to be valid so....
Date- October 29th Location- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Intensity- Category 3 -------------------- "Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are part of nature and therefore part of the mystery that we are trying to solve." - Max Planck |

We already have 19 named storms this season and only one made landfall in the US, no hurricane landfall. Amazing.
This adds another strange fact to this hurricane season that's already strange enough without it. |
