Wings thought it would be neat for me to create a thread about my upcoming wedding and I agreed!
I'll post information and pictures as I get them. I also would love ideas as well. Any advice is definitely wanted as well! I'm really enjoying the planning so far, but it's also really stressful.

We're hopefully putting the deposit on the venue later this month and I can get our save the dates out after that. I think I'll feel less stressed once we have our date and venue secured.

You know I'll have lots of questions but won't bombard you all at once.
The bride's wedding dress is something most people are very curious about. Any ideas there?
Will it be new or will you wear something passed down from a family member? Long or short?
White, off-white, or something different?

The dress is the most important part of course and I have been looking at dresses even before Ryan proposed. My parents didn't have a wedding so this dress will be mine alone. The one I have in mind looks vintage. It's tea length with elbow length sleeves. I thought about getting it in ivory instead of white, but that's so in vogue right now. I'm gonna stick with white.

The venue we want is a hotel called the Sundance Mountain Lodge. It's a really pretty, sort if rustic type of place. It's very Colorado and has a great view of the range. I've decided our colors are red and peach.

What season are you thinking of having the wedding, if it's fall or winter you could even theme the lodge based on the season wink.gif

The date will be 22 October, so it will be a really pretty time to get married there

I would in that case make it fall themed, with even the food being centered around what's fresh at that time and in season.

I think we will. We still have to decide what our menu will consist of. I just know it will be yummo

Be careful on what you choose with regards to who caters the food for you, sometimes price doesn't equal quality. My cousin learned the hard way. dry.gif

Well the hotel will do the food as well. I'm doing a whole wedding package there. I only have to worry about the cake.

Good, that's a big relief for you instead of having to choose a caterer, you don't know how big of a nightmare it can be.

Yeah I really didn't wanna worry about that. The hotel offers various packages too so I can choose how many entrees and hors d'oeurves we want to offer

Don't tell the florist or caterer it is for a wedding- they jack up the prices when they find that out! We were planning the traditional route for our wedding reception. You know how that ended up. laugh.gif

(Harum was at my wedding reception. It was at a bowling alley and catered by Costco. It was a LOT of fun!)
