Its getting closer and closer to summer so why not open up a long range thread for summer temp forecasts.
NOTE: this is for NON TROPICAL decision ONLY, tropical discussion will go into the tropical discussion threads. |

My current idea for this summer is that it will be much wetter in the northeast, and it will also be significantly cooler that what we had to deal with last year in the northeast and the mid atlantic.

Regardless of what this summer does, it almost certainly should be colder than last summer. Last year was pretty much the record here with about 50 days of 90+ degrees, and I definitely do not want to repeat that again -------------------- Visit my weather website for the NYC area

Can it be anything like 2009 for me here? In 2009, we had record heat wave lengths... and it started in May. We had people going to the Beach and playing volleyball in Vancouver and farmers had record crops that year finishing with pumpkins ripening a month early.

Awesome. Pittsburgh probably won't have a single 90-degree day in 2011, just like in 2000, 2003 and 2004. (Global warming?)

If the widely debated subject was REGIONAL warming, then i would agree. Back to topic. Where is the bermuda high forcast to be for the duration of the summer? 2008 = very hot June and July, very cool August rainy summer, especially August which saw rain almost every day and wrecked the local corn crop.
