What did you want to be (occupation-wise) when you were younger (or now)?

When I was little I wanted to be a mommy, police officer and teacher.

Occupation now? Security guard.

Currently wanting to be a cartoonist. Drawing is one of my favorite things to do.
Maybe do some kids books or coloring books. (:

QUOTE(alpdexplorer @ Mar 20 2011, 07:17 AM) *
Does anyone know anything about Hybrid vehicles and how they work?

I'm possibly going to be looking at one this week... *Honda Civic Hybrid*

I don't understand how Hybrids work, though.

I looked it up, but it didn't help much. Alls I know is it doesn't have to be plugged in.

Anyone own one? Or know anything about them?

Hybrid vehicles operate as "supposedly" half gas and half electric but realistically are 3/4 gas and 1/4 electric, especially if your driving consists of mainly highway driving. When at low speeds, below 40MPH the electric engine is on, when above that it's gas. Personally I will not buy one because at around 100K miles the battery goes out and it will run anywhere between 3-6K depending on the car, so keep that in mind. Working for a car rental company I've tried nearly every hybrid on the market and I'm not impressed at all, especially since the transmissions on those cars seem to operate in an awkward way. I believe that in this case the transmissions might go out early as well, but it's not founded on experience so you'll have to check it out. Hope that helps. wink.gif

Hmmm. Hybrids sound complicated. PS: Going to change the top. Thanks for the input! biggrin.gif I'm going to stick with a regular Honda. Easier to understand tongue.gif

lets see when i wanted to grow up i wanted to be just like my dad.... not.

i tried to be an engineer and failed at school. so now i am going to military which is funny is that my dad was in military and now he is an engineer as well.

So the more i dont want to be like my dad the more i am like him >_>

What i want to be is a detective or a cop. well maybe after military i can do that it would be cool but i need to get other skills as well.

I wanted to be a teacher until around my senior year in H.S. Then I wanted to be in the DEA.

I did neither, but kick myself for not pursuing the DEA more. I started having babies and the idea of bullets flying by me didn't seem so appealing. Ya know, once those mommy insticts kick in, you're sunk.

Anyway, when I was younger I wanted to be an astronaut for a while. That dream faded early on.

A police officer! I wanted to be devoted to my job, and get that in order first. Life had different things in store for me, and I am now a mother, student (criminal justice) and security officer. What a wonderful life it is!!

You would be a wonderful cartoonist! You always have the best comical little sketches. (That is where I received my name Huggiez!)

When I was younger I wanted to be an attorney. Now I'm a manager at an executive airport for a major rental car company. However, I'm starting to think about going to law school, I want to pursue my dream of making a difference in the community and giving legal advice, I may go back to school soon and get a masters in business before going to law school.

astronaught
equestrian
vet
author (sometimes still working on this one)
present time killing occupation (for 20+ yrs) security.
Once I win the lottery I will devote more time to other diversions.
