Given the high wind probabilities on WW 394, a PDS Severe Thunderstorm Watch may be required if the derecho intensifies this morning and early this afternoon before reaching southwestern Ontario.

Watches should be issued for Southeast Lower MI this afternoon..
From the SPC QUOTE BOWING QLCS OVER N-CNTRL IL WILL LIKELY TRACK EWD ACROSS PORTIONS OF
NRN IND...SRN LOWER MI AND NWRN OH THIS AFTERNOON. A DOWNSTREAM WW WILL BE ISSUED BY 18Z. RECENT FORWARD PROPAGATION SPEED OF 45-50 KT WITH THE BOWING SEGMENT MOVING ACROSS N-CNTRL IL WOULD EXTRAPOLATE TO THE ERN EDGE OF WW 394 AROUND 19Z. DOWNSTREAM AIR MASS CONTINUES TO HEAT AND DESTABILIZE WITH WARM FRONT /ROUGHLY FROM 20 S VPZ TO DTW/ GRADUALLY SHIFTING NWD . MODIFIED 12Z ILX RAOB SUGGESTS THE PRESENCE OF STRONG INSTABILITY /MLCAPE RISING AOA 2000 J/KG/ ALONG WITH 40-50 KT EFFECTIVE SHEAR WILL MAINTAIN POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS. ALTHOUGH LOW-LEVEL SHEAR SHOULD REMAIN MODEST...THE PRESENCE OF A WELL-DEVELOPED BOWING STRUCTURE ALONG WITH THE WARM/MOIST BOUNDARY LAYER COULD FAVOR BRIEF TORNADOES AS WELL. -------------------- Twitter @ConnorTheRig

I have a bad feeling I'm going to miss all the good stuff because I have to work tonight. Hoping I can catch at least some activity.
EC would be crazy to not even issue a Watch considering there are Tornado Watches all over southern Michigan and NW Ohio. EDIT: Spoke too soon. EC just issued some watches for southwestern Ontario a few minutes ago. It's pretty vague but I'm sure they'll fill in the details soon. CODE Windsor - Leamington - Essex County
1:49 PM EDT Sunday 29 May 2011 Severe thunderstorm watch for Windsor - Leamington - Essex County issued Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions. Watch for updated statements. Please refer to the latest public forecasts for further details and continue to monitor the situation through your local radio and television stations or Weatheradio. EC has taken the Severe Thunderstorm route, given since the idea on the American thread is the Tornado watch should only be a Severe Thunderstorm watch.

Definitely need to keep an eye on that cluster over IL! Looks to hold its ground as it enters extreme SW Ontario!

TWN is saying the severe thunderstorm risk could extend as far as Hamilton and St. Catharines.
The radar coming from Illinois is looking nasty. |

The accuweather radar and EC's lightning map is showing very, very strong storms approaching southwestern ontario. These storms look awesome but as has been the case this year, Ottawa is missing out completely on the action.... again. But enjoy the storms down south when they hit.

The tornado threat seems to be increasing overall, might be best to upgrade everyone to a Tornado Watch.

All Detroit Networks are following this Live. Cable subscribers in the southwest (such as myself) get these networks. Something our Canadian networks would NEVER do. Hey A-Channel, maybe follow this?
Regardless, those in Windsor/Sarnia should be watching out at this point, Tornado warnings over SE-Lower MI at this point. -------------------- Twitter @ConnorTheRig
