This is a new thread where I will be discussing what the weather was like for the Long Island, New York area. I will try my best to update this thread on a daily basis, but there may be some days where I may not be able to post on this thread.

You may also feel free to post what you think about the weather here on Long Island, New York, and I will then try to respond to your posts.

Today was mostly cloudy and I had reached a high temperature of 68, but it was still a very big improvement over yesterdays weather where we had to struggle just to get above 65, and I had also seen something that I have not seen in a very long time, and that was the sun!!!

There could be a slight chance for some showers later on tonight, but that is still a slight risk.

It is currently mostly cloudy, I had a few breaks of sunlight in the early afternoon hours, but the clouds have rolled right back in yet again. But seeing some sun is still much better than seeing absolutely no sun at all!!

The temperatures have remained at a very steady 65-68 and they are starting to go down, and they will most likely continue to go down for the rest of the day.

Last night was very comfortable, it had gotten down to the upper 50's and it was very brezzy.

Today I reached a high temperature on 74 degrees, and unlike what I had to go through for the past few days, today was actually a sunny day, it was also a very nice day to get things done outside, tonight should also be another comfortable night for sleeping.

Yes I agree, its a beautiful day here in Long beach. The temp. is 73 there is a
nice offshre NW wind.

Tomorrow, as you know there could be a cooler SE wind with clouds moving in ahead
of low pressure moving across tomorrow night and friday morning.

It should be OK during the day tomorrow. A few t storms could arrive late

There was some thunder last night in my area.

I am about to get hit with a very strong round of thunderstorms within the next few minutes.

During the past 2 hours there has been continuous lightning and thunder as cells
are moving right along the south shore here in Long Beach with some heavy
downpours. As I am writing this, it looks to be tapering down.

So far this year I have had three hail storms, the biggest one was on June 9th, I had quater-plus size hail, that cracked a few car windshields(mostly pre 1998 models), and it had accumulated to 6+ inches, and it had killed many plants in the area. Yesterday I had nickel size hail that had accumulated to 3 inches, that had killed even more plants in the area.

Yes, as you know there were some intense cells moving along the south shore
there was marble sized hail in Long Beach. There were a couple of times
where it sounded like lightning hit my house as the thunder had a loud explosive
sound. It was a relief when those storms moved on east.

A bolt of lightning hit a pine tree in my neighbors yard, it fell down on to a swing set.

Yesterday, i had some really severe thunderstorms in my area, i had a ton of rain and on top of that, I had golfball sized hail.

Today, I am expecting some rain by the evening, and some of that rain could be heavy at times, but there will be no severe thunderstorms in my area of Long Island.

It looks like I will not have the amount of rain that I was expecting to have today, but I will still be receiving some sort of rain, but I highly doubt it that I will receive any severe weather today.
