A few spots did hit 90 today, but mostly the upper 80's in sne, to the upper 70's in nne. It is getting nicer with the falling dewpoints however dp in to the low 60's are still hanging to the coast. Hight dewpoints will return along with a chance for svr storms to some areas this monday.

The weather is going to become more interesting as we go through the next few days.

Another outbreak of severe weather today? And then another chance of the same on Wednesday?

Believe it or not we are headed headlong into fall, and weather in sne is here to prove it with cool air in controle and maybe chances for rain late in the forcast period.

We just had a sun shower move in , and many more showers may cross the sne area with heavey downpours, along with thunder. So stay safe! The worst of the weather now looks to be heading south of boston to areas like Dedham, Canton, Braintree, Whymouth, all on the south coast of Mass.

No severe weather in sne at the moment, but keep an eye out!

Weather Update!

_ So we have a nor'easter like storm in August! Well It is not so rare, we had one last year on the 25th. This years however we have some very heavy rain along the Low center near Long Island. RI may get to 3 inches of rain in spots. The same will go for the south cost of CT and parts of Mass by the end of the day.

Temps Are Falling!

The most important things to note for the next 5 days is the stormy weather we will have.

1. Wednesday, the most rainy and warmest storm. Look out for most sne, heavy rain and some gusty winds with temps very warm for this time of year, near 50. Nne may start out as a wintery mix, but will change to rain as temps rise. Northern areas may see wintery showers most of the week.

2. Thursday, not sure what to make of this storm. This may just bring some passing rain showers, a few snow showers for some?

3. Post x-mas storm looks like it could be a near miss, or a hit. No real cold air to speak of until after the new years, when this warm pattern finaly breaks down?

Hello AccuWeather forum, this is the weather chat for January 5, 2012.We are entering what should be the coldest period of winter throughout all of New England. The third and fourth of this year were below average in terms of temperatures for many people across the area.Tuesday featured temperatures near 32 on the south coast of New England and temperatures colder the further north you went. Was even colder on Wednesday a frigid high of 28 or cooler rocked the area.don't get used to this cold and don't expect any measurable snowfall anytime soon. The northern jet stream which ushers in and ushers out the cold air is quickly retreating back to Canada locking up all that arctic air. Long-range forecast for this month would appear that we will be the battle zone between the colder air locked up in extreme northern New England and Canada and warm moist air coming from the south.

And now onto the forecast for the rest of this week

Friday, January 6, 2012
temperatures will reach the lower 40s near the south coast of Massachusetts Rhode Island and Connecticut.I would not rule out a few 50s in some warmer areas. It should be mostly sunny for all of New England with a few clouds in the morning in some areas. No real weather hazards will exist. an extremely slight possibility exists for some snow showers across extreme northern New England, perhaps an isolated one to 3 inches in the mountains.

Saturday, January 7, 2012

high temperatures will reach the 50s on the south coast of New England, and even some upper 40s as far north of Vermont and New Hampshire borders. The coasts of Maine could even touch 50. This just goes to show you that there is no real cold anywhere in New England.low temperatures will only make it into the upper 30s for most parts of the area parts of Maine near Canada may reach the freezing level.the windchill however will make it feel like it is only around 30 to 35 for many areas.

Sunday the eighth through January 11 will feature mainly sunny weather with temperatures between 45 and 35 on the south coast, and temperatures in the upper to mid 30s for the rest of New England. A few showers rain or snow may occur over the elevated areas of northern New England. Other than that on those days there's got to be no real weather hazards.

Our next precipitation event will, on the 12th. Temperatures could get warm so this is going to be a rainstorm not a snowstorm. However there are still questions on where exactly the storm is going to be and how strong it's going to be. That's going to determine just how much rain we see and how warm it's going to get. Right now I would say temperatures in the daytime are going to be between 45F and 50F. But it could get even warmer or colder and if it gets colder and if the storm stays close enough this may possibly and or start has mixed precipitation very briefly only in northern New England and only if the storm gets in perfect position. At this point it's really just to up in the air to nail down any specifics other than the fact that we are going to get a rainstorm.

Well if your New Englander like me you like your snow and you love tracking winter storms but so far this year we have not have a lot of cold and we have not have a lot of snow. Many people say the pattern is going to have to break sooner rather than later, why do I have a feeling this means were going to have a cool rainy summer. That's all for now I'll be back tomorrow for some more weather thoughts and possibly update on the upcoming storm on 12 January.

This is a weather update for southern New England.

Well yesterday January 7 was far warmer than expected temperatures reached the 60s. This was honestly the warmest day in January I can remember! Today is a bit colder and more cloudy and that will remain the forecast for the next two days over all of New England. Monday will be the coolest day with temperatures around 40s and into the upper 30s.Tuesday is going to be a cloudy day was a storm sliding to our south, perhaps the Cape can get a few rain or snow showers out of the system.

Wednesday will feature our next possible rainstorm, although once again all of the specifics aren't quite in place. My first call for the system will be a warm rain for most of southern New England with the temperature around 50. Don't expect snowfall of the system.

And it looks like temperatures after this we will be going into below-average territory, temperatures could be in the upper 20s and lower 30s contrast that with the average temperature of 39. However we've seen this kind of forecast before and it never really panned out bus far in this winter. So with that being said prepare for some rain and possibly cooler temperatures. I will be back Monday with a number update for weather in New England!

Well are we ready for winter storms so the New England? well it's not to be a huge snowstorm, and it is even looking as bad as it was early why you ask? Warm air.if you're in southern New England you're going to be getting a cold rain that's going to be tomorrow January 12and into January 13 Friday.that is, also affect parts of Rhode Island and Connecticut.however if you're in Connecticut you can expect the storm to start tonight just before midnight and maybe because of it starting at night you may see some mixed precipitation or snow especially if you're in the higher elevations.now if you're up in the Worcester County area Blackstone Valley etc. etc.you have a chance for sleet tonight, snow in the morning and maybe some freezing rain to just plain rain in the afternoon. However with cold air sticking near the ground it's going to be somewhat treacherous travels tomorrow,in New Hampshire you have a better chance of freezing rain and that could lead to a few scattered power outages although ice accumulation isn't going to be overly high. I will check in again tonight around nine o'clock with an update and some observations, I will see you then. And remember anyone in southern New England please feel free to come talk about the weather on this page on the AccuWeather.com forums.
