Figured I might as well start a new thread for a new NHL season. Preseason just a little more than a month away!!
 So I guess to start the thread, I will ask how do you think your team did this off season? For the Devils: 1. I can't comment on the coach because I will admit until we hired him I had never heard of him. I know he coached the Panthers, and that alone has me worried a little bit. 2. I don't like the signing of Andy Greene. He had one good year two years ago, but that was it. Now granted the whole team was horrible last year, he still had a very poor season, and at 3 mil a year, it just seems that Uncle Lou could have gotten somebody better. 3. The signing of Jannsen and the signing of Boulton has me baffled a little bit. Yes we do need toughness on our team, but getting both of them just seems odd. Since Janssen has a 2 way contract I would assume he will be in Albany. 4.Trading Rolston was a good business decision. He had an almost impossible contract to move, but Lou did it. We needed room to sign Parise, and Rolston never lived up to the expectations that we all believed he would for his 5 million dollar contract. 5. Today surprised me with the buy out of Colin White. I thought he had a decent year last year. Without White, we really don't have a veteran leader on the blue line that can maybe mentor Larsson for his first year in the NHL (I'm very excited about Larsson by the way) Myabe Lou can make a trade. Doughty anyone?? 6. Lastly Zach Parise. I will never understand how Lou was not able to lock this guy up long term. I'm not happy at all that he only has a 1 year contract. Per the CBA Zach can not sign a contract extension until January, so maybe on the flip side Lou wants to see how Zach will play coming off an injury filled year,and if he stays how he is, I'm sure he will get an extension during the season. If Lou lets Parise go to test the UFA market, Lou really has to go. That would *bleep* me off and I'm sure would *bleep* off almost all Devil fans. As long as my team ( maple leafs) make the playoffs ill be happy , hopefully reimer plays good in net

As long as my team stays in Long Island rather than move to Kansas City I'll be happy!

Flyers are going to suck so the season may as well be canceled.

They cleaned house, so I guess its a wait and see approach with them. But I will say that Bryzgalov is not going to win them the cup. He is good, but not spectacular. -------------------- THEY SCORE! NHL 12 comes out Tues. The season is officially upon us.

So glad I went to opening night to watch my poor excuse of a hockey team get destroyed. I didn't think it was possible to be worse than last year, but apparently it isnt

man o man, if the Devils could have more than 1 line actually play, we would be a decent team. The only players that play is the Parise, Elias, Sykora line. Kovy is just the worst!
