I could really use some help please.
I've had a Davis Vantage Pro 2 going on two years now. For the purposes that my son and I use it, its great and we like it. However, we have noticed that when the electric goes off, the battery backup does not seem to work. Here's what happens. Power is off for a few hours (storm, hamster fell off the wheel at the town power plant, etc.). VP2 screen goes blank like it should. When the power comes back on, the VP2 comes back up but then it has NEVER captured any data while the power was off! We have ours hooked through the router running over TCP/IP to WeatherLink 5.9.2. Yes, I know the batteries are fresh because this is the third set I've put in. Typically, I change the batteries in the back when I do the smoke detectors twice a year. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please? Thank you, Thom |
