There is probably no threat of a repeat of the VEI level 7* eruption in 1815, since the caldera has not been filled in since then.

*Volcanic Explosivity Index...each level is 10 times greater explosive eruptive volume. Mt. St. Helens in 1980 was a 5 producing about 1 cubic kilometer of debris, Tambora in 1815 produced in excess of 100 cubic kilometers
