Yes I know it's far out there, but the GFS and its ensembles say there will be some kind of storm system during this time frame.

Actually this timeframe makes more sense and I haven't even seen a graphic yet. Late Dec-Mid Jan is usually the beginning of substantial snow in my local. I still would like to see a polar plunge soon and the LES machine to run its full course.

Pretty good bet there will be a storm in this period, as it will likely be a recycle of the early November Upper Midwest and Central Plains snow on November 8-9, I believe.

I love tracking so bring it on. We'll see about they snowy side though. Rain on Christmas would be depressing but it's not like it doesn't happen often around these parts.

That was awesome. I got about 7" of snow from that one with a ton of blowing and drifting, pretty much a perfect Christmas storm. -------------------- 2012 - 2013 Winter

Chrismas Eve / Christmas storms are the greatest. It helps to bring some of that magic for the kids. Awesome and here's saying I'm on the lookout. While it is pretty cool to have a bunch of snow at Christmas time, these storms hit at one of the busiest travel periods of the year. During the Christmas blizzard of '09, at least 21 people died. Yikes. -------------------- USA Weather Blog(Click Here) [Currently not being updated]

Ugh- a storm that might come at the worst possible time.
I've got to head to family for Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day. That would be a downright nightmare. -------------------- My Blog: http://theweathercentre.blogspot.com
