A large solar eruption on the sun has caused a large radiation cloud or flare to head toward
the earth, the largest since 2005 it should reach the earth around 9AM tomorrow. It will cause only minor disruptions in electronics like cell phones. We could also have interesting sunsets the next few days. |

Remember the flare about 8-10 years ago the knocked out one of the large 'beeper' satellites and put that companies beeper network out of service for about 36 hours? -------------------- Never too old to have a happy childhood! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Don't put an age limit on your dreams! |

March 6, 2012
Another Huge Corneal Mass Ejection has erupted from the Sun: – A massive solar flare that erupted March 6 is the strongest in five years and may trigger satellite and power grid disruptions, scientists say. Solar Flare The active sunspot cycle had released another large solar flare. It is headed towards Earth and should begin to arrive late Wednesday night into Thursday. It could cause power grid interruptions, radio and communication problems, and even damage some orbiting satellites. Of course this will stimulate a large amount of radiation that should give ample reason to check for large Aurora's. -------------------- "Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are part of nature and therefore part of the mystery that we are trying to solve." - Max Planck |

Is this X-Class Solar Flare rivaling the one in June 2004? Or was it in September?
