A magnitude 6.2 quake occured near Java in Indonesia today. At least 10 are confirmed dead.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060527/ap_on_...esia_earthquake

This comes after two separate monster quakes have struck northern New Zealand over the past month.

May 16, 2006: Mag 7.6 quake in New Zealand
May 16, 2006: Mag 7.4 quake in the Kermadec Islands Region
May 16, 2006: Mag 6.8 quakes in Nias Region, Indonesia
May 4, 2006: Mag 7.9 quake in New Zealand

The two quakes in New Zealand were quite close to the Toba Super Volcano.

good that you mentioned this quake thunder, cause there are also the merapi volcano in the same area that are building up for an eruption, which i will say are very close to come.........the combination that is given now can become quite cataclysmic......cause i think todays quake will be a small start for the forthcoming ones..............we'll see , and i cross all my legs and limbs that there wont be...............

The death toll is now up to 'near 4,000'. The specific tally given in the article is 3,875. The magnitude of the quake has been increased to 6.3.

The aftershocks measured as strong as 5.2. There's just to many people dying from quakes in these areas...
