![]() Weather Outlook for Tuesday Tue, 10 Apr 2012 05:10:00 EDT Low pressure spinning over southeastern Canada will begin to fill in and slowly move eastward as an upper trough the next few days. Another day of scattered showers is expected over interior New England on Tuesday. Temperatures will be low enough to support snow in some locations with light accumulations possible over the higher elevations of the northern Appalachians. A stationary front stretched through the Southern Plains will be the primary focus of showers and thunderstorms over the south central U.S. Tuesday and Wednesday. A cold front will begin to move inland over the western U.S.. Widespread shower activity along the coast will gradually spread eastward over the Great Basin on Tuesday. Upton
With a cold pocket of air aloft associated with a stationary low pressure system across New England, clouds were forming as we received heating from the sun today. The combination of the heating from the sun and cold air aloft allowed air t...o rise in pockets to develop scattered showers. However, due to dry conditions below the cloud layer, most rain evaporated before reaching the surface. Here is a satellite from this afternoon image across the northeast showing these cloud patterns. -------------------- Snow Totals Per Season:

Did it even rain in the NYC area? I checked the radar early this afternoon and saw a couple of showers but they seemed to be dissipating. That's not a good sign...
I finally got to see what decent rain is actually supposed to be like in Peru... I think I saw more rain today than NYC had over almost the entire 30-day period -------------------- Visit my weather website for the NYC area

Amazing amount of shower activity over the Northeast currently. Perhaps will help dampen the enhanced fire threat today.

A very unexpected signficant grauple (heck it might even be hail) event is occuring IMBY at this moment. Pics up as soon as I can upload them. meanwhile, KMDT reports heavy rain only.
Reports of snow covering the ridges up around State College - whacky stuff (but not unheard of).
