The National Weather Service has a "Hydro-Met Data Report" site that shows precipitation amounts for 24 hours for various locations. e.g. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/productview.php?pi...6MTR&max=61
Are there sites that show the rainfall accumulations for week, month, year? If so what are they? If not, why not?

I think that I may have found what you are looking for. Go here: http://water.weather.gov/precip/
Hope this helps!

The Forestry Service for your state has excellent rainfall data (gauge). The CoCoRAHS CoCoRAHSwebsite has excellent rainfall(gauge) records. Between the two, you get a good rainfall coverage and history. I trust rain gauge readings over NWS radar estimates. The NWS radar values are still troubled by overestimation errors. I use these rain gauge measurements all the time for my website map here in NW Florida.
