The way this and last winter is going Id be suprised with 3/4 of an inch!
-------------------- Not snow starved this winter of 09/10: Approx.. 85-90 inches
Feb 2010 beat our snow record in one month with approx. 45-50 inches |

TWC and NOAA upped forecast and are calling for 1-2" for tomorrow

Ill bring this thread back alive..... The reason is because the rest of the threads are east of the app. mountains and could be significantly different from the coast......Since I live 30 east of Pittsburgh, what do you think is gonna go on with any of these up coming storms.... Would like to get any opinions... A few models look like rain at first then snow on the back end... I dont remember which ones exactly becuase ive been looking at so many!!!

This winter has been a bust as far as west PA is concerned. Dissapointed
 There are multiple threads on potential east cost storms..any chance that they will bring significant snowfall to this area? heres to hoping for a few 10+ inch storm this winter.... |

yeah it has been quite a disappointing winter
if you trust the 7/8 day GFS (which I don't) you would be seeing a period of some moderate snow, followed by a possible changeover to rain/snow mix, followed by heavy snow certainly something to look at but nothing to take too seriously yet |

oh my, each runs brings in more and more rain and less and less snow
we're going to have to see some big changes for there to be anything about 4" in the next 16 days |

its not the main show all the hype is about, but tuesday night a piece of energy is forecasted to move through the area as the cold front goes through.
henry m mentioned it this morning, and the nws is showing enhanced snow for tue. night we'll have to see tue evening, but this is how we sometimes get 4 or 5 " of snow, it kinda pops up out of nowhere after that its anybodys guess, we could get a foot or an inch, with these early feb. storms |

the next ten days seem to be all great lake storms, unfourtunatly also , there is not enough cold air to even give us front end snowfall ( 2-4")
here in pgh we're not east coast, but because storms do not travel up the appalaician mtns, we have to basically live and die by the nor'easter. its a crappy deal, but thats reality. the storms west of the apps. are just too far west, and usually lack the super dynamics to give a broad area decent snowfall, unlike the east coast storms, basically because they're landlocked. hopefully we can get a miracle tue nite, and get the cold air in here before the energy and precip goes on by, its happend before |

what a turn the weather took overnight Freezing rain and wind advisories for tonight and tomorrow. TWC calling for a total of about 1-2" with snow tonight and tomorrow. AccuWeather calling for almost 1" of ice thursday night into friday AccuWeather also calling for about 3" of new snow thursday night into friday the latest GFS shows a huge spurt of snow during the 1st of the month (a good 7" or so) |
