WOW! That's odd. I got used to getting there from www.google.com and typing in NCEP and clicking the 2nd item down. And it takes me to that same page, but the NAM hadn't been updated since the 18th and the GFS runs always came in 6 hours late! Try it yourself! Thanks though! I had been considering getting PRO here just to see the basic models! Happy Easter!!! |

It's probably on the PRO site. There is actually a model called the Accu-weather model on the PRO site too. The COAMPS model is available on the Pro site (30-day free trial)... it is not a widely used model, to my knowledge. Quoting below from the Pro Help Page... QUOTE What is the COAMPS Model?
The Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS) is the latest product in a series of mesoscale model developments at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Marine Meteorology Division. COAMPS represents a state-of-the-art analysis (including the Nowcast capability) and short-term (up to 72 hours) forecast tools applicable for any given region of the earth in both the atmosphere and ocean. COAMPS has been used to provide operational mesoscale atmospheric forecasts for the NAVY central and regional forecast centers since the winter of 1996. COAMPS and COAMPS-OS are a registered trademark of the Naval Research Laboratory. --(Sue Chen and Hao Jin, Naval Research Laboratory) -------------------- -- Jesse Ferrell, FORUM ADMIN & MODERATOR

What are the conditions of PNA/NAO/AO that result in a Mid-Atlantic Snowstorm? What are the signals?

How far out days the ECMWF go out and can you get it all for free and where can you get it. All the ones I see only go out to 7 days and only update once a day. Where do you get the other 4 runs? Thanks.

Some links that might come in handy during hurricane season.
NOAA link to National Data Buoy Center http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/rmd.shtml Buoy reports are a good source of info once a system gets into the Gulf or near the East Coast. Hurricane Hunters mission page http://www.hurricanehunters.com/mission.html This page gives you some insight into recon missions. Aircraft recon page from TPC http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/reconlist.shtml This is where you get recon reports. Check out the data archive so you dont have to sit at your computer and refresh constantly to get current reports. You can use this to stay ahead of public statements from TPC. How to decode recon reports http://www.wunderground.com/about/reconreport.asp It may seem intimidating to decode recon reports but after you do a few its easy. Hey, I can do it. LOL If you need any help point your cursor over my name and click to send me an email. I will try to help you as much as I can. Good luck on the tropical season. -------------------- Irreverent and sarcastic sense of humor. Don't take it personally. |
