Hey folks. Steve from Barrie. Favorite season is winter. Actually heading to blue mountain this weekend to do some snowmobiling and snowboarading. Anyone in that area have an update on the snow conditions? I am sure the hills will be fine but wondering about the trails.
cheers. |

I'm on the west edge of Ottawa. Currently about -8 with light snow. We are forecast to get 5 - 10 cm.
My default weather shows up as Canton, NY which is one of the closest US locations to where I am to register in. Is there a way to allow postal codes instead of zip codes to be inserted when going through the registration process.? This post has been edited by Clynnog: Jan 22 2008, 09:22 AM |

Hi, my name is Paula.
I live on the most southern tip of Nova Scotia on Cape Sable Island (connected to the mainland with a causeway) My favorite season is summer, however I love a good snow storm. Nothing better than a "snow day" where I can stay home and get paid! ![]() |

Good day everybody. Name is Neil and i'm from Sackville, Nova Scotia. About 20Km NW of Halifax.
My favorite season? Well.. I always like to say "Winter..... I love to hate it!!" I'm a plow operator for the City OF Halifax and i find it extremely agravating that its almost impossible to get an accurate forecast for the area. 3 different forecast sites (EC, TWN, and Accuweather) and 99% of the time, the varation in forecasts is in the extreme!! (From my point of view) and it makes my job a PITA. I'm a snowmobiler so thats why its defenatelly my favorite season. Since i have became a plow operator, I have found that my affexiation with the weather has skyrocketed. I pay extreme close to the various satellite images and radars and i can almost make my own prediction... Somewhat <g> Chow for now! Hey everyone. I thought I would create a thread for Canadians to introduce themselves> I will start: My name is Travis I live just outside of Alliston, Ontario My favorite season: WINTER! feel free to add to it! |

Enjoy the winter!! This post has been edited by mvn: Jan 22 2008, 12:01 PM |

Hello, my name is Lucas, and I live in Summerside, PEI. I think winter is probably my favorite season (snowboarding, kiteboarding, and snowstorms), but I also like summer for the beach! It is quite the cold spell we're going through right now

Bonjour tout le monde/Hello everyone !
![]() My name is Jean-Yves from beautiful Laval (the island north of Montréal). All is well today, we have light snow and no wind at all, it's like a Christmas card outside ! Light snow started last night and I believe we have about 5cm on the ground now. We had a so so winter this far with snow falling early around Nov20th then 2 or 3 big storms until New Year (by the way, from the first snow Nov20 to Jan1st, we've received 150cm, a new record that held since 1984). Then afterwards snowfall has been light and we had a big thaw with a high of +11C on Jan9th... Since then winter's back slowly but surely ! Question for the forum/web master: on the Surface Data, Color US Surface Condition Map, any idea if we could get the temps in Celsius ? Thanks for Accuweather to take care of their canadian members more and more ! Best regards, J-Y. |

I would just like to welcome all the new participants to this forum. For those of you who do not know, my name is Brett Anderson and I write the Canada Weather Blog here at Accuweather.com. I have been a meteorologist here at AccuWeather since 1989 after graduating from Rutgers University. My usual week involves a radio forecasting schedule across the eastern United States, creating weather graphic features for AccuWeather.com and our TV clients, the Global Warming Blog and of course tracking storms across Canada with the Canadian blog. I will check the forum on a regular basis for your observations since the automated airport observation sites in Canada can be very frustrating at times with the lack of data, especially during a snowstorm. I will also reply from time time, especially during major storms.

Hi there.
Name is Eric. I live in Burlington Ontario & work in Toronto. Always been a weather buff. Especially fascinated with micro climates i.e. how the Great Lakes & escarpment effect the GTA's climate. Not a fan of snow, today was a long commute. |
