Hiya
I'm thinking of moving from the UK to Canada. What part of Canada has the warmest summers with the least winter rainfall? Thanks |

A big fan of non-mundane weather; winter, spring and fall are my favourites. (I really enjoy the sideways snow, though I wish no one is ever hurt in such conditions) I'm retired and enjoyng amateur weather watching. This forum is a real 'find'. |

New here as well,
Located in Waterdown, near Hamilton, and I am a HUGE weather nut, and a HUGE winter lover! I love big snow storms, and I love my snow. The more the better, and if it's a white Christmas you have made my year. I have two snowmobiles and I love to ski as well, so these crappy wet, warm winters we have seemed to have the last 12 years can kiss my butt (except the last two... though locally I was cut short Feb 4th... no snow after that near Hamilton go figure.....!!!) For the record I am a Canadiens fan, GO HABS GO! Bring on the snow. -------------------- 12/13 - Accumulation for Waterdown ON. 97 cm, 15 cm on the ground
11/12 - Total Accumulation for Waterdown ON. 33 cm 10/11 - Total Accumulation for Waterdown ON. 105 cm 09/10 - Total Accumulation for Waterdown ON. 59 cm |

Hello All,
My name is Nick. I'm a 16 year old male high school student. I currently reside in Markham, Ontario. I was born on April 2, 1993. Ever since I was exposed to my kindergarten teacher's weather chart, I loved meteorology. I started the Markham Weather Centre, a non-commercial, private weather station at my house, and keeps track of the local weather for over 3 years (which recently broke down in a storm). I also started two websites, the Canadian Weather Centre, and more recently, the North American Weather Centre. I also have a blog (which I haven't updated recently, but I will soon). I look forward to make friends in this forum and learn things about the weather!! Hey everyone. Been on the forums for a bit but I figured that I would introduce myself.
My name is Ryan, i'm 15 currently attending Grade 10. My favourite season has got to be a tie between summer and winter. Fall just makes me depressed(my family owns a trailer up by Goderich) so we have to close that down in the Fall usually around mid October. I really love being up there, we get superb thunderstorms and it's such a blast to be on the pier watching the storm roll across the Lake! My favourite hobbies are fishing, weather tracking, and the biggest one, radio control cars(hobby grades that go about 50mph) which I drive all year around, spring to fall, summer to winter. ![]() -------------------- View my broadcast of live weather here

Hello All,
First up, my name is Stewart and i live in Dundas, Ont. part of the City of Hamilton. I'm 27 and moved here from Ayrshire in Scotland in March 2006. I have been a member on another weather forum back in the UK, but never one based here in North America. I love the two distinctive seasons that produce the most weather interest here in Ontario, the winter and the summer! Winter for the snow, except last winter It's great to be on Accuweather. Brett Anderson's blog is always a favourite read and his insight into Canada's weather i think is second to none. Cheers, Stewart -------------------- Stewart,

Hey guys. I'm Devin, from Blenheim, Ontario (a small town a bit south from Chatham, near Rondeau). Still in high school, but planning on going to McGill University for their Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences program in the fall of 2012. The goal is to become a climatologist and get a research position somewhere. I'd love to become an advocate for climatology and scientific skepticism, but we'll see how it goes.
I'm a big fan of extreme weather, especially thunderstorms and winter storms. In Blenheim, we get quite a bit of active weather in the summer (especially this summer, where it seemed like at one point in July we had a tornado warning every other day!) but our winter weather is pitiful compared to places in the snowbelt. Nothing satisfies quite like a good snowstorm. It's good to finally have a place where you're encouraged to talk about the weather. First of all... welcome, Uncanny Otter! Or Devin, if you prefer.
I realize I've never actually introduced myself in here... My real name is Evan, I was born in 1983 (27 years old) and I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba. I spent the last year living in Kitchener-Waterloo as I attended grad school, which was my first time outside of the prairies for any significant length of time. Weather is mostly a side interest for me (I studied American history, not climatology, in university), and I generally rely on others in this forum with greater knowledge and forecasting acumen than I to predict the weather. But I do enjoy sharing my own personal observations and experiences -- and since the majority of people here are from Southern Ontario, I don't mind being the one to let everyone know what's going on in this neck of the woods every now and then. |
