Whats the difference between the Davis Standard Extension Cable and a 4 conductor telephone cable you can buy at any department store for much less? I'm guessing about $14 plus shipping...

I bought a phone exension cable frm a local drug store. It had an small box input jack on one end and the standard phone connector on the other. The 40' cable from the anemometer was about 20ft too short so added this extension cable and it works perfectly. Cost me $6. I used 3M marine silicone to weatherproof the input jack. Works great, here's the link to my weather station to prove it.
