As of last weekend's (6/21) rain storm, it became apparent that my gauge was (once again) clogged with "presents" from the birds. Last night on 6/25 I cleaned the gauge so last night's rainfall should have been correct. I also found out that my rainfall is not being transmitted to CWOP and am trying to figure out why that is.

The Hautespot device stopped uploading at 200807072357.52, which is in the middle of the night. I'm not sure what happened. I will check when I get home tonight and see if I can reboot the device.

Since I didnt' detect this in a time-sensitive fashion, I have programmed the WeatherMatrix server to TXT me when the station goes down again.

I rebooted the Hautespot, but it only transmitted for a few hours and stopped again, so I connected it to the wired Ethernet this morning and it is transmitting again.

Some of the information is not appearing on the weather station pages this morning because the MesoWest site is down. Select another link at the top to see data, in the case of the AccuWeather station, click on “QUICK LOOK (1m)” until the graphs return.

http://www.weathermatrix.net/wxstation/obs/

Wind Gusts last night:

Penn State (Walker Building): 55 MPH
NWS HQ: 50 MPH
Jesse's House: 48 MPH
AccuWeather HQ: 40 MPH
J.B.'s House: 39 MPH*
Elliot Abrams: Not Available

The Clearfield ASOS hit 69 MPH!

As a followup to this, the max wind gust during this time was underestimated at 27 mph for my station, just due to the low frequency of transmissions to CWOP, I guess.

Due to continuing problems with my home Internet from Comcast, my station has been off and on for the last week, and will be off until at least Wednesday afternoon.

On December 22nd, we hit the lowest readings so far this season:

Alan Reppert: 0
Joe Bastardi: 0
Elliot Abrams: 3
Jesse Ferrell (THIS STATION): 4
AccuWeather HQ: 4
KUNV: 5

THE ACCUWEATHER MESONET

A heated rain gauge was installed temporarily at this location, so my CWOP rain readings will be accurate for the next couple weeks.

The wind vane has iced up this morning so wind direction readings will be inaccurate today.

The MesoWest site is down today so it is hard to get at my data. This station had -2 this morning which ties the record low set 2/5/07. More info on my blog.

This heated rain gauge has now been removed and transferred back to AccuWeather HQ where the station there is now up and running (see all stations).

I am also experiencing occasional difficulty with the Hautespot device uploading to CWOP, so my data there may be blank from time to time. In case you need the data, use the Backup Source.

Station is offline due to failure of Hautespot device. Records of note:

Outage continues until I can find enough money to purchase a WeatherLinkIP device. Due to battery failure, low temp on Saturday Sept. 19 was unknown. Nearby station AccuWeather HQ had 43.6.

Pretty impressive winds as that line of "storms" just came through!

Walker Building – 58 mph
Jesse's House – 50 mph
AccuWeather – 45 mph
JB’s House – 40 mph

For perspective, my station has only been 50 or above 4 times since installed in 2006, prior to this.
