Just purchased a WMR100 and have played with the "Weather Display" and the "Virtual Weather Station" software.
First off I don't like the fact that the weather station only comes with Basic Weather software. However, I understand that software developers need to make money too. Both seem to have poor help functions and their manuals don't explain allot of things very well. Both seem to be buggy. I like the way VWS does its web page and it seems more intuitive. Weather Display seems to have more functions. The real problem is that none seem to "Run As A Service". Different people log in and out of my workstation all day and data is lost. I can run it on my SBS 2003 server but no one is usually logged on to it. Money is an object but I don’t want to pay less money for something that won’t do what I want now or possibly in the future. All my systems are Windows based. I want to be able to update a personal web site as well as the different internet sites. Any suggestions? |

I know what you mean by "run as a service." I wouldn't be surprised if some of the software out there does that, but I don't know of any off the top of my head.
What you really need is an IP device like they are selling for the Davis stations, that way you bypass the computer. However I haven't heard of any for other stations. -------------------- -- Jesse Ferrell, FORUM ADMIN & MODERATOR
