U.S. Current Weather: 1 TOPIC PER STORM, SPECIAL TITLE GUIDELINES: Please Read Options

In order to avoid total chaos, the U.S. Current Weather Forum has specific rules as to Forecast storm threads. Specifically, there shall be 1 Topic Per Storm as we decided previously (and as stated in the overall Guidelines), and also titles of threads should follow the format below, as stated in this thread; the Moderators will correct these as necessary. For examples, see the existing threads in this Forum.

TITLES MUST BE IN THE FORMAT:

DATE / REGION / EVENT

SUBTITLES MUST BE ONE OF: (For Fall, Winter and Spring storms)

Cogitation: Long Range [8-15 Days Out] FORECAST
Possibility: Medium Range [4-8 Days Out] FORECAST
Reality: Short Range [0-3 Days Out] FORECAST


SUBTITLES MUST BE ONE OF: (For Severe weather in any season)

Day 1 through Day 3:

SPC Risk Level: See Text - Forecasts & OBS
SPC Risk Level: Slight - Forecasts & OBS
SPC Risk Level: Moderate - Forecasts & OBS
SPC Risk Level: High - Forecasts & OBS


Day 4 and beyond: (Not SPC based)

Risk Level: Possible - Forecasts & OBS

--> (Substitute "OBS" for "FORECAST at the end of the Title if it is a thread about an even that has already started on radar. Subtitles can be anything if "OBS" is in effect.)

--> Days should not include "nd" or "st" - numbers only.

--> Severe weather subtitles should be updated by the thread creator and/or Administrator and Supermoderators as to reflect the actual daily SPC updates and forecasts.

By using these icons to their specific threads, we can keep the Current US Weather forum organized and easy to interpret.

Plains/MW/GL/OV
Southeast
West

EXAMPLE EVENT NAMES ARE:

Snow & Rain (outside of winter)
Winter Storm (during winter)
Rain
Flooding
Severe (thunderstorms)

SOME EXAMPLES OF VALID TITLES ARE:

Nov. 1-2 Northeast/Mid-Atl Snow
Possibility: Medium Range [4-8 Days Out] FORECAST

Jun. 28-29 Southeast Severe OBS
