Snow Days are a decent bet across many areas of PA, New York, as well as parts of western New Jersey that were left out. In the Pink shaded area, expected a 70-85% shot at seeing a snow day with isolated 85-100% chances. Winds are pretty strong out of the Northwest and is contributing to the fact of receiving a snow day. Most ground temperatures are 40-50 degrees but many areas in New York and extreme Northeast corner of PA has received between 8-12" of snowfall. Power Outages should not be a huge problem, but if leaves are still on the trees in some area, may pose a risk for tree and power line damage. The Terrain is not really a big problem in this area as this area see's this type of snowfall early on but not this earl. Blowing and drifting snow should be a real hazard with 15-30 MPH winds. The Wind Chill should be in the teens and 20s where the strongest winds occur. With the snowfall continuing well into the night and maybe as far as Wednesday evening, seems a likely time for a snow day across the 70-100% chance area of seeing a snow day.
