When the 12Z GFS comes out today, it will give us our first look at who will have a White Christmas 2008. Even though we all know the model is pretty inaccurate 15 days out, I'm gonna start posting them. So the model is playing a game against itself, as it were.

I did this last year, then did an analysis and showed animations of how the model changed over two weeks, right after Christmas. You can see that analysis here (link fixed now)

Maps From 00Z last night & 12Z this morning. Already in the last day, we've taken White Christmas away from Texas and excited the Southeast. Expect to see more wild swings.

Higher res maps today are available for the first time, since we're only 7 days away now. Today, the GFS is teasing the southern Appalachians with some snow cover...

Today, we are starting to see what may be the sad reality in the Northeast, as warm air leading up to Christmas melts existing snow cover in the Mid-Atlantic and Pennsylvania.
