What a surprise awoke to a half inch of snow, nice to finally have a white blanket covering everything.

It looks like areas between Kenosha County in Wisconsin and Cook County in Illinois are in for an interesting 36 hours. Although i don't think it'll be a large event by any standards, considering that there will be an accumulating LES event on this side of the lake is enough to be granted a thread.
The vertical temp change between lake surface and 1 mile aloft is predicted to be 30+ degrees, that is a huge drop, considering normal is about 15 degrees. Hopefully the winds can really lock in and give us some good precip. I've been looking and not alot of sources are giving much if any info. accuweather isn't even predicting snow. Skilling says we could have some accumulations but didn't tell anymore, although he gave some sweet graphics. NWS calls for 1-3 but i think this is underdone. I'm thinking between 1-5 inches will fall. I have to give such a wide range because of the hit and miss nature of LES. Bullseye will be eastern lake county and Northeastern Cook County Discuss |
