I'm very excited for the first 5PM news in HD in the Hartford market. Today is the day!

Although I don't have HD service nor and HDTV, I will still film the opening and you will see the new set, weather graphics, etc.

The new set has a news desk that moves all around, and it can be done for different news stories so there is a different background.

WeatherPlus branding will finally go away, and so will the NBC 30 branding.

American Idol Season 8

I hope Kris Allen wins this season. I loved Carrie Underwood when she was on Season 4, and she is still amazing. Her live performances are better than on CD, a feat which not many artists can accomplish. She's been awarded for back-to-back years in some of the most prestigious categories. She will be performing tonight for the third time this season on Idol. Let's see who will win this year...and how successful will they become?

High Pressure in the Southern Hemisphere

I learned today that in the southern hemisphere, high pressure systems rotate in the opposite direction than they do in the northern hemisphere.
