For those who did not notice already EC has changed how they issue watches/warnings. For those who use raw data feeds like my site you will see the changes already. It is likely people that get warnings from TWN won't see any changes.

ENVIRONMENT CANADA PLANS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES TO THE
PUBLIC WARNING PROGRAM:

1. ENVIRONMENT CANADA WILL CONTINUE TO ISSUE THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS
FOR ALL PUBLIC AREAS ACROSS CANADA:

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING (WUCN)
TORNADO WARNING (WFCN)
SEVERE WEATHER BULLETIN (WWCN)

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS AND TORNADO WARNINGS WILL CONTINUE TO
BE TRANSMITTED USING THE WUCN AND WFCN HEADERS, RESPECTIVELY. THERE
WILL BE NO CHANGE IN THE FORMAT OF THESE MESSAGES.

THE SEVERE WEATHER BULLETIN WILL CONTINUE TO BE TRANSMITTED USING
THE WWCN HEADER. THE WWCN BULLETIN WILL NO LONGER INCLUDE ANY
INFORMATION REGARDING THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS AND TORNADO
WARNINGS, BUT WILL CONTINUE TO INCLUDE A SUMMARY OF ALL REMAINING
PUBLIC WARNINGS AND WATCHES IN EFFECT FOR EACH PUBLIC AREA.

THE FOLLOWING BULLETINS ARE AFFECTED:

REFER TO WEATHER.GC.CA FOR FURTHER DETAILS ON THESE WARNINGS AND ALL
REMAINING PUBLIC WATCHES AND WARNINGS ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA.

END

They are more targeted for media so they get a summary of everything going on.

The good part of this new system is those who get watches/warnings from mailing lists you won't get two for every warning issued anymore.

This was to take place July 3rd I believe was the date.

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has closed access to the "East Side" of Algonquin Park and all Crown land on the Barron Canyon Road due to a forest fire currently burning out of control within the boundaries of Canadian Forces Base Petawawa.

Due to the ongoing forest fire currently burning on CFB Petawawa property directly adjacent to the Algonquin Park boundary (between the Petawawa River and the Barron River); the Lake Traverse Road Barron Canyon Road has been closed and no access to the east side of Algonquin Park is available.

At this time, (Saturday 8:15am) the fire has not entered Algonquin Park. McManus Lake, Achray Campground, and backcountry lakes in this area are being evacuated today. This is a precautionary measure and is proceeding in an orderly fashion without incident. The road block will be located on County Road 28 near the Algonquin Portage Store (Schinke's store). At this time it is unknown how long the road closure and east side of Algonquin Park closure will be in place.
The following areas are closed in Algonquin Park until further notice:

Mallard (Sec) Lake Access Point (#20)
McManus Lake Access Point (#21)
Achray - Grand Lake Access Point (#22)
Lake Travers Access Point (#23)
Eastern Pines Backpacking Trail
Sand Lake Gate
Crooked Chute Ranger Cabin
Wenda Lake Ranger Cabin
Barron Canyon Trail
Berm Lake Trail
