Just a quick question on height temps
925mb temp is 4 degrees Celsius. I sit at 801ft elevation. using the 720 meter 925mb height from meso-analysis 925mb level is sitting at about 2200ft. Now is this 2200 foot level from sea level (0ft) so it would be 2200-800ft? or is it 2200ft above me? I think the former cause our freezing level is about 4k feet which would be close to 850mb when taking my elevation into account (800-5000ish=4200ish feet (Data shows near 4000ft freezing level))

Ive been watching at it looks like things might cometogether for a nast icestorm for michigan, and probably a flood threat for IL,IN,OH and the northern part of michigan could have a pretty large snowstorm. What do you all tihnk about this?

One time last year in August a thunderstorm rolled over my house. Being the weather geek that I am i ran outside to witness it. It rained so hard that the roads were like rivers and the sewers and stuff backed up. My PWS reported that at the peak it was raining at 10.95 inches per hour! That is very intense and it was an amazing thing to witness. We ended up wityh a little over 2inches of rain in a few minutes.
Does anyone have any stories liek mine? And how rare is a 10"/hr rainfall event?
