i recently had some t-storms hitting western and central ma this afternoon, while other storms impacted areas just over the mountain in eastern ny.since im only 20 minutes away from ny state, the storms come in here from my western sky over the mountain and sometimes from my southwest/south facing sky,so whatever is hitting upstate ny is usually effecting me within the matter of minutes and the nws in albany covers my area,i never been in the coverage area the nws from taunton,ma.i did have chances for t-storms this afternoon from a trough pushing thru the area, but i was missed by t-storms and didnt get any therefor it remained tranquill thru the evening into tonight and overnight and into early this morning.so a bit more cooler and less humid airmass is ushering in here with air temps expected to be in the lower 50s by early this morning.i will be sunny and warm and somewhat humid today with air temps reaching the mid 80s,then for thursday mostly sunny very and humid with air temps in the mid-upper 80s.so the way things look like right now,its looking more like the possibility of strong-severe storms wont be till late thursday afternoon or thursday night.my air temps right now are 59.5 degrees, while my dewpoints are 54.4 degrees.my barometer is rising slowly at 29.93 in

it was memorial day 1995,it was a sunny pleasantly warm and humid day,we only had the possibility for t-storms,no severe weather was expected.i had it on twc and i could see some convection firing up in eastern ny early that afternoon of memorial day 1995,i guess most people at nws in albany were out having a picnic having barbecues cooking all because of the fact that no severe weather was expected.but we all got surprised that memorial day afternoon, all of a sudden i started seeing these huge black storm clouds forming overhead and they were swirling down low,i was like hit the deck we are gonna get by a twister because of the wall cloud rotating right in front of me.it was weird how the thunder and lightning and heavy torrential downpours stopped all of a sudden.then the dark cloud was rotating,i can see hear something roaring to my south, but i couldnt make out what it was.then the winds picked up and started getting stronger and stronger and felt as though it was trying to rip me off my porch while i hung onto the steal railing.i figured it was probably downdraft and microbursts and it was pouring with small ball size hail that completely covered the grass.but looking southward towards lenox and lee,i couldnt believe how black the sky was,and all that tons and tons of wicked insane lightning bolts constantly ripping across the sky with huge thunderous crashes of thunder that i was hearing so easily up here.then the lightning and thunder was happenng so much, then i started hearing the sirens going off outside up and down north st and wahconah st.i went and looked at the weather channel,i can see it being scrawled across the bottom of the tv that a tornado came thru and landed in the southern berkshires.when the tornado came into the southern berkshires,it was an f-2 tornado and grew to a possible f-5 or even f-6 tornado.see, what happened was, when the storm team invetigators first arrived here from the nws in albany doing there investigation.they first said the tornado was over a mile wide,it ripped up the pavement and the ground and only a powerfull f-5 or f-6 does that, then it was as if a blowling ball came in and then smashed everything to bits all houses, building structures, the great barrington horse track and destroyed thousands of trees that were 60-80ft tall.the storm team investigators later changes there minds and said the tornado grew to be a powerfull f-4 tornado from what the storm team investigators later concluded that summer of 95 from the nws in albany.the tornado was over a mile wide and destroyed a landscape of over 30 miles while it was on the ground

spring time weather has certainly returned,i think the winter weather season is officially over and done with.a low pressure system with cold airmass came in here during end of last weekend into this past monday and tuesday.i had a low monday night into tuesday morning of 17.5 degrees, then tuesday night/early wednesday morning low 22.4 degrees.i also had another real cold one again last night into this morning, with a morning low of 23.5 degrees with all 3 nights and early mornings with hard freezes.the air temps responded nicely tuesday afternoon with a high 57 degrees, then yesterday i had a high of 74 degrees.then todays high of 82.4 degrees as of 343pm,my air temps are still at 83.4 degrees as of 352pm,so i dont think im going to reach 85 degrees for a high today,it looks like my highest air temps might be right now.so for friday.abundance of sunshine with air temps going into the mid-upper 80s as far as im concerned since model runs indicate a good 3-8 degrees milder for friday and saturday, which i still think saturday still should feature mostly sunny skys with clouds late in the day.i cant believe how much its feeling alot like springtime outside in the hot blazing sunshine and warm weather.i can still remember that incredible heat wave i had some 6yrs ago this week, because it was april 15th into the 19th,2002.when all of a sudden, the heat came in here like a blowtorch and got very warm to hot outside even the breezy conditions was like a hot blowtorch in your face.my air temps were 82 degrees on april 15th,then 92 degrees on april 16th,then 96 degrees on april 17th,then 94 degrees on april 18th and 19th.see what happened was on the 19th as to why it went back above 90 degrees,it was because the cold airmass didnt fully filter into the area till saturday afternoon and saturday night of april 20th.my air temps did reach 88 degrees at 11am april 19th,then i had t-storms roaming about my area towards the western sky at noontime, but it took till 1pm to finally get clocked with severe violent supercell t-storms with incredible amounts of lightning bolts and huge thunderous crackling crashing of thunder with heavy duty torrential downpours.but it all ended at 130pm,then the sun came out from time to time at 230pm,then at 3pm, all of a sudden it was mostly sunny outside and getting hotter and hotter with air temps jumping back thru the 80s into the 90s with a high of 94 degrees at 420pm that afternoon april 19th back 6yrs ago.i swimming up at pontoosuc lake the whole entire week of april 15th into the 19th 2002,because it got so warm and really hot outside, and thats the hottest april i can remember.but it also showed and proved to me that it can get very warm to hot outside in mid-late april.
