Let me explain.. I think anyone in any part of the country has up to what, three forecasters on their local nets? (CBS, NBC, ABC, maybe more local stations, too)

Who is more fun: The ones that have the degree, know what they're talking about? or those that don't

My local forecasters, at least one of them, use to do this thing called rooftop weather, and would have a contest doing a four degree garuntee. He was pretty fun, but I have no clue if he had the knowledge to back him up, he's not on TV anymore..

I noticed lately across the country that the local forecasters seem to be getting a little more professional. I think at one time on the local news biz the local weather guys were the bottom dwellers.. Maybe with respect of weather itself came a better cast of workers?

If anyone has any historic knowledge on this, I am very curious.. It's pretty amazing that three years almost to the day, we are talking about a strong hurricane possibly striking New Orleans..

While it seems unbelievable, it's the Gulf Coast.. so it has to be believable. Storms, especially hurricane, happen during this time of year in this part of the world

I am just curious, does anyone have any historical facts on just how many times this part of the Gulf Coast got hit with storms over the past 100 years? 200? maybe even furhter back?
