best place for anamometer

where is the best place for an anamometer? I was gonig to put it on the shed roof but then with snow it would break it. then i figured to put it on the side of the shed.... but then if wind comes from the 1 direction it will give a false reading. I dont ave any fence or deck posts... I was going to put it on our aluminum pool deck (pool is fromteh 70's) but not sure.. help is appreciated. It also has a thermo hygro transmitter. thanks in advance.

New Weather Center

OK as you can tell Im extremely happy, just got back from WALMART with a weather station for myself..... its THE WEATHER CHANNEL 1910 Professional Wireless Weather Center with a wireless range of 330 feet. It comes complete with an anomometer and thermo-hygro sensor. It is made by LA CROSSE TECHNOLOGY. So did I make a good purchase? Anyone else have these? I now have to figure out all its capabilities. It features time, date, temp, wind chill, humidity, wind speed, pressure, wind gust, dew point, storm warning indicator, 3 forecast icons based on changing barometric pressure, pressure 12 hour history, min and max records on wind and weather data with time and date, indoor temp, weather tendency arrow, history record measurements stored every 3 hours for 140 rcords total.

Im happier then a pig playing in mud.
