Tropical Cylone Leslie Forecast Contest

Firstly, credit goes to hckyplayer8 for the idea. I thought I'd make this thread now for the fun, I'm not sure if you planned on making one.

Guess the:

-Maximum intensity (mb and maximum sustained winds) (5 points)
-Landfall location/closest approach to continental NA (10 points)
-Maximum winds affecting land in continental NA (3 points)
-Effects on Bermuda (3 points)

Bonus points for getting your forecast in early!

After Leslie recurves OTS (presumably in 8-10 days), I'll list every poster in the Original Post, and grade them. Winner gets bragging rights!


My guess:

-Max intensity 948 mb, 100KT
-Closest approach: 60 miles from SW nova scotia
-Recorded winds 55 KT
-Bermuda will be hit by the eastern eyewall of Leslie as a cat 2

Quick question:

Why are these two images so different, yet are from the same source?

Notice the large anomaly differences in several regions, such parts of the the north atlantic.




Might be the wrong section, and feel free to remove this when it gets discussed enough

edit: also in the 2nd image, there is a large pool of -3C anomalies off the NW coast of Spain, which aren't present in the first image.
